Tees Valley Needs Your Business Voice

The search is on for experienced business leaders to join the business body responsible for driving growth, creating jobs and bringing investment to Tees Valley.

Tees Valley Needs Your Business Voice

Tees Valley Business Board represents the voice of the region’s businesses and ensures local business leaders have a direct influence on the decisions and projects that supercharge the region’s economy.

Now the board is seeking new members to continue its focus on securing Inward Investment, Business Growth and Skills – and the wider aims of attracting new businesses to the region, supporting existing firms to expand, and ensuring local people have the skills needed to access high-quality jobs.

The Board is made up of private sector experts with hands-on experience of running successful businesses or working in senior positions, with a breadth of diverse business knowledge covering the entire region.

Those who bring leadership, want to bring growth to the region and are keen to ensure projects work for businesses and employers are wanted.

Matthew Ord was appointed Chair of the Tees Valley Business Board late last year for a four-year term He said:

“I want the Business Board to ensure the voice of business is strong and central to shaping the Combined Authority’s plans for the future.

“I want our board to take a fresh, inclusive approach to its work and we want the very best of our business leaders to join us.

“If you value integrity, openness and are committed to working together for our region’s success, put yourself forward and join the team.”

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen added:

“This board plays a hugely important role in making sure the decisions we take are grounded in real business experience and focused on delivering growth.

“We’ve laid the ground but we’ve still got big ambitions to attract global investment, to help local firms scale up and creating good quality jobs for our people.

“Having the Business Board, with Matt at the helm, helps ensure what we’re doing works in the real world for employers and workers alike.

“If you’re a business leader who wants to shape the future of our region and make a genuine difference, I’d urge you to put yourself forward.”
